What's inspiring you lately? the people of the city- what distinguishes the district of columbia is our willingness to complicate the identity of the city – namely, creating space for each resident to engage with, to critique, and to celebrate the parts of the district that mean most to them. perhaps what most typifies the washingtonian consciousness is the refusal to oversimplify; the effort to understand what is ailing washington dc alongside the desire to honour what is progressive and unique. rather than essentialising the geographical entity, we seek to comprehend the cultural complexity; to honour the intellectual and spiritual legacy; and to sustain our the richness of the past.
