It's BIKE TO WORK DAY! In celebration, a few recent bike snaps from the #aCreativeDC feed. Thanks so much to @queengwenn, @dmanisphotos, @homme_DC, @coffeeneur, @explore_dc, and @jennrightmeow for tagging! PS - this month's newsletter theme is transportation, so keep the wheels + such imagery ~flowing~ #aCreativeDC
LIFE & BUSINESS. Small-batch D.C. picklers Gordy's were featured this week as part of Design*Sponge's Life & Business column – those are a good read in general (small biz insight and VERY relatable advice), and it's always so exciting to see the city repped nationally.
TONS TO DO on Saturday, re: arts + music + shopping and MORE: natural skincare collection Be Clean opens the doors to its brand new space, and also we keep seeing amazing kayak imagery in the feed and apparently they're only like fifteen bucks to rent and so maybe you will find us on the Potomac? See also: LAMB JAM. Saturday night options include the Shark Week album release show at Dance Loft on 14, and the Tailgate Reception for photographer Ann-Marie VanTassell's 'NASCAR' series at Pleasant Plains on Georgia Avenue.
ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON we're trying to get lazy and catch up on accumulated newspapers + magazine articles, but the annual open studios at The Jackson Art Center in Georgetown – 40+ artists working from what was formerly a historic DC public school at 30th and R – does sound kind of amazing. And for plan-ahead-purposes: BYT announced their Nat Geo After Hours event this week.

L A S T L Y - a huge, huge thanks to everyone who came to our open house last night in Brookland! We met nearly 200 of you over the course of the night and we could not be happier to have put names + faces to Instagram handles, artwork, and imagery. This project would not exist without the incredibly diverse perspective that each and every one of Y O U lend to it, and last night's gathering felt like the DC that we know and that we love. While we're still a few months out from fully launching our IN REAL LIFE component of the project, we do plan on building offline even as we continue to grow and foster A Creative DC on this site and on Instagram. Thank you, so much, for helping us do just that.
