ONE MORE ART THING: We've left city limits for the weekend to attend Hand In Glove 2015 – arts organizers + artists from across the country are convening in Minneapolis to share experience, resources, commonalities and differences. Jazzed to be here; you can follow along with us on Twitter at @aCreativeDC (and we'll be keeping up with our usual steez of all the DC 411 we can tweet, RT, and otherwise throw at you). We're here alongside some other DC folks, including Transformer and the WPA, and you can follow those guys for more insight on what's ringing familiar, re: our city, during the convening.

WE STOPPED BY THE COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FARMER'S MARKET ON WEDNESDAY (for the first time!) and really, really dug it. So much of that feeling of neighborhood gets lost on that particular stretch of 14th Street, but during market hours, at least, the big box stores, commuter-centricity, and concrete-slabbiness are all kind of x-ed out and the focus is, instead, on community, on coming together, and on celebrating local food and local food access. As is true throughout the city's wide network of Farmer's Markets and food equity programs, volunteers are welcomed with open arms (contact for more 411) and for more ways to get involved, keep an eye on the Market's SM feeds (Insta, Twitter, FB) for coming-soon announcements, re: crowdfunding and support.

KENCENHANGTEN. Finding a Line opens tonight at the Kennedy Center, and we've been loving all the preview imagery of the skate park – built over the last year at George Mason University and now installed in front of the institution – that's hit the #aCreativeDC feed. Check the schedule for a ton of events and shows surrounding the weeklong skateboarding + music festival.

BLACK GIRL IN OM. We love, love, love the premise of the Black Girl In Om project. Beautiful vibes (bodies + wellness matter!) with an important, important focus (women of color matter, and self-care is essential and important for e v e r y o n e ).
