LOVING ALL THE @PROTECTYOHEART street art imagery in the #aCreative DC feed this week! Some sightings around town, above.
RE: HEART, we're THRILLED to have announced hEArT: an art-filled benefit that we're throwing with the Capital Area Food Bank and MISFIT Juicery! And because philanthropy shouldn't and doesn't mean cutting million dollar checks, tickets are only $25, which provides an amazing 62 meals for children, seniors, and families affected by hunger in every neighborhood + ward in the District. Tickets are available now – we can't wait to see you there!
CALL FOR ART: SwatchRoom is using their Shaw studio to exhibit mixed media + performance art during Art All Night! Want in? Send images + dimensions their way – more 411 (and a sick Lionel Richie graphic) on their Twitter. LOOKING AHEAD AT ART: Really digging the concept of the National Museum of Women in the Arts "Fresh Talk" series – keep an eye on the calendar (they start in October) because the lineup looks dope. AND WAIT! EYEBALL THIS TOO: Transformer's Fall 2015 programming schedule.
TONITE TONITE: Implicit Bias opens at Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery; Chromatic Canyon is at Vivid Solutions; How We Lost DC is at Honfleur.
ONE MORE ART THING: We've left city limits for the weekend to attend Hand In Glove 2015 – arts organizers + artists from across the country are convening in Minneapolis to share experience, resources, commonalities and differences. Jazzed to be here; you can follow along with us on Twitter at @aCreativeDC (and we'll be keeping up with our usual steez of all the DC 411 we can tweet, RT, and otherwise throw at you). We're here alongside some other DC folks, including Transformer and the WPA, and you can follow those guys for more insight on what's ringing familiar, re: our city, during the convening.
THAT WAS A LOT OF ART STUFF. Here's some music! And also some pie. And here's to whatever aspect of creative Washington, DC that you're appreciating/supporting/taking part in/putting out this weekend – can't wait to see it in the #aCreativeDC feed, and as always, thank you for sharing Y O U R city.
