APRIL SHOWERS/MAY FLOWERS: We found the above film + digital collage series (titled "All My Friends are Cereal Killers") in the #aCreativeDC feed and had to share. From artist Sean O'Donnell: "[the] series is film from a number of bike polo tournaments I've travelled to in the past year or so, and photos of bouquets my colleagues and I deliver [by] bike around Washington, DC. The name [of the series] betrays that it's a bit of a juxtaposition of tattooed "rough" looking people and playfully placed flowers. Not to mention we all know our way around a bowl of cereal (or five)..." See more of Sean's work at www.smoketoink.com and on his Instagram, @smoketoink.

THE AMOUNT OF STUFF GOING ON OVER THE LONG WEEKEND is bonkers. We'll direct you towards the behemoth that is the BYT Best Weekend Bets calendar for a more comprehensive look at your options (it's Pitch Perfect-themed, because OF COURSE it is Pitch Perfect-themed), but here's what's on our radar...
TONIGHT: Weekend-long pop-up + exhibition The Alley opens tonight – a collaboration between No Kings Collective + Anthony Smallwood, it celebrates the creative culture + history that took place over the last few decades in Blagden Alley + Naylor Court in Shaw. Earlier-in-the-night options include Pilobolus + Portraiture: an open-to-the-public after hours event in the Kogod Courtyard at the Portrait Gallery.
SATURDAY: daytime stuff includes a woodworking workshop at ARTillery, and Saturday night = the bazonkers-sounding CRANKPARTY (seriously, so fun) and also SHOUT BAMALAMA in Mount Pleasant.
SUNDAY: Artist + author Marcella Kriebel will be at the Dupont Farmer's Market selling prints and signing copies of her cookbook, Mi Comida Latina, and OMG! The ReCreative Spaces (UP)RISING! Festival in NE! Go roll around in all things art + performance + culture and more and more and more. And since it's not a school night: Chain and the Gang at Capital Fringe.
NEXT WEEK STUFF: KLEEN City's AM Dance Party is at Flash on Thursday, and post-work jamz include the El Mansouris opening for Louis Weeks at Howard Theatre.
SUMMER FUN IN THE SUN but also maybe in your work environment too? Internship/job postings that hit the #aCreativeDC feed this week spanned the food, fashion, art, and lifestyle realms: click through for more deets from Righteous Cheese, Soul & Ink Crew, and photographer Kate Warren.
