Once a month A Creative DC sets up shop on the third floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library; in partnership with the DC Public Library Foundation, our monthly day of Inspiration + Creative Coworking provides artists and creatives – emerging and established – with space and time in which to work and get inspired by the DC Public Library's resources.
Huge thanks to our (amazingly talented) friends at Wilderness Bureau for joining us last month and documenting our day – from the periodicals to the Fab Lab, the stacks of inspiration the librarians pulled specifically for each guest, and the Merima Repesa-designed #aCreativeDC notebooks printed in the Digital Commons – they did such an incredible job of highlighting the resources the DCPL has available not just to us, but to the city at large.
We had additional support last month – our friends at Compass Coffee, Cava Grill, and Misfit Juicery kept everyone fueled throughout the day, and Salt & Sundry provided the colorful layering pieces that made the original Mies van der Rohe-era furniture that much more appealing.
We host these Coworking + Inspiration Days monthly (we're so excited, actually, to be headed there today!) and we'd love to have you there: take a moment to introduce yourself, and in the meantime be sure to wander into your local branch and check out all the ways the DCPL and the DCPL Foundation can work for YOU. Follow the DCPLF at @dcpl_literati for more behind the scenes and creative content coming out of the DCPL, and hey! Keep an eye on our Twitter, too – we'll be at MLK all day and sharing peeks at what we're getting into.
Your life looks good here. #aCreativeDC
